Our client encountered limitations, as conventional foundation excavation and spoil extraction wouldn’t be feasible. The solutionFollowing a thorough site investigation and compression load testing – in collaboration with our third-party engineering partners and our client’s consultancy – we specified and installed 37 extendable hot dip galvanised ground screws measuring 89mm x 2300mm. This allowed us to reach the design verification load in a confined space with extremely limited access. To address the challenges of transporting fixed-length Ground Screws with a 2.3m requirement into the basement, we opted for a flexible, extendable system, utilising smaller sections, proved instrumental in delivering an effective solution.
