Description

The 89R is the flagship of our screw pile range, engineered for deep embedment and the heaviest loads in the lineup. Its triple helix design delivers strong load-bearing capacity across a range of soil conditions, with multiple helix sizes available to suit the application. Installation is carried out using our excavator-mounted unit, compatible with a range of excavator sizes, with an optional gimbal mount for easier loading on sites with restricted headroom.

Real-time torque read-outs let installers calculate pile capacity on the spot, taking the guesswork out of every job. Ideal for full house foundations, modular homes, cabins, shipping container bases, and heavy-duty extensions — inquire for pricing.

FAQs

  • Yes, ground screws are very simple to install. You can start turning it into the ground by hand and then use the hand tool once it becomes too difficult to turn. For each ¼ turn of the handle, the ground screw will move 10mm further into the ground.

  • Ground screws use the standard pile principles which have been reliably applied since the Ancient Greeks! The process of installing the ground screws will compact the surrounding local soil and solidify the substructure. Other forces such as skin friction, clamping pressure and thread interlocking will all contribute to its load bearing capacity. This method ensures your foundation requires no digging, no mess, no concrete and the install process 75% faster!

  • Our ground screws are compatible a variety of applications including decking, sheds, garden offices buildings, signage and other structures. Our self-install ground screws range from 550mm to 1100mm in length with a vast range of connecting brackets. Check out our case study page for inspiration and similar projects. If you are unsure whether or not ground screw are suitable then please give us a call so we can advise further.

  • Choosing the right number of ground screws is important to ensuring you have the right level of support for your building. Use our Ground Screw Calculator which will consider your project details and will provide recommendation. If you have a specialist project or more in depth plans they please give us a call or email to discuss further.

  • You can use ground screws in most ground types but please contact us if you are unsure. For sloping ground, you can use our self-install range to overcome slopes up to 300mm. If you have a greater slope to overcome, we can offer a professional installation service with our commercial range.
